Aircraft Spins Out of Control into Palm Groves at Popular California Shoreline
An aircraft flying over a well-attended California beach unexpectedly began spiraling uncontrollably, finally dropping height and smashing into a cluster of palm fronds as beachgoers observed.
Videos uploaded on social media capture the chopper beginning to twirl above the beach then descending in the direction of the perimeter of the coast, where it becomes wedged amidst palm groves and a set of stairs close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Update
Local firefighters reported five people were rushed to the hospital including two who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the crash on the weekend.
Three individuals on the road were hurt. Details on their wounds were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
