Skydance Paramount Plans to Remove Approximately 2,000 American Positions – Report
Skydance Paramount plans to start large-scale job cuts beginning on 27 October, cutting about 2,000 positions in the United States under a budget-saving initiative worth $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.
The workforce reduction follow the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized this past August with a value of $8.4bn.
Additional global layoffs are anticipated, with the company aiming to disclose all specifics during its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.
Previous updates had indicated the company was looking to eliminate from 2,000 and 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.
Until December 2024, the company retained almost 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 contract workers.
Paramount Skydance has not provided a response regarding the report.
